How to Add WordPress to Your Web Site

798358_linksIf you already have a Web site and want to add Word Press to it, it shouldn’t be all that difficult. Word Press is the most popular of all of the blogging platforms out there, so it has to be user friendly. Otherwise, most people wouldn’t use it.

To use it on your site, you’ll need to download it and unzip the folder onto your hard drive. In the control panel that’s been given to you by your server company, create a database and a corresponding user. Go to the file that you unzipped and put in the proper information for the database name, user, and password. Then, re-save the file so that the information stays put. Using FTP, upload the folder that you saved to your site. Once that’s been completed, go to your site normally and follow the on-screen instructions to run the application.

Once you’ve done that your site should load properly for you and for anyone else who goes to it. Now it’s time to add plugins!

If you have any problems there is a Word Press codex that you can go to, and there are many tutorials out there on the Internet to help you if something isn’t working quite right for you. Millions of people use Word Press, so if you aren’t sure about something, it’s a safe bet that someone out there knows the answer to your question and can help you.
