What is a WordPress Theme?

1wordpressIf you’re new to Word Press, you’re probably wondering what all the talk is about themes. What are they, and what do they do? These themes are what you use to create the way that your page actually looks, and you want them to be great so that people will enjoy your blog, come back, and maybe use your services or buy something from you if you’re selling a product or service.

However, not every theme will be the right one for you, and depending on the overall tone of your blog you might be better off with certain themes as opposed to others. A blog focused on cars and tools wouldn’t do well with a flower theme, and a blog directed at women probably wouldn’t do as well with a lot of bold, dramatic colors and harsh lines. You have to tailor your Word Press theme to what you’re blogging about so that it all fits together well.

The good news is that there are a lot of Word Press themes. The better news is that most of them are completely free. You won’t have to spend any money to get a great theme, so you won’t need to worry about your blog costing you cash that you’d rather not spend, especially if you’re not looking to monetize your blog and just have it for fun.
