How to Add a Playlist to Word Press

1176012_classic_musicIf you want to do something a little different with your Word Press blog, you can add some music to it. To do that you’ll need to have an account at playlist.com, but it’s free, so you don’t have to worry about paying money to let people know what music you like.  Be sure, though, that you have a web site that has Word Press installed.

In other words, if you just have a free Word Press blog (hosted by Word Press at the wordpress.com address) this won’t work for you. You need to have downloaded software to your own hosted domain from wordpress.org. Once you have the Word Press account and a playlist.com account and have uploaded all of the music that you want on your playlist, you can then click on the ‘embed’ option at the bottom of the playlist. You’ll be given choices as to where you want to embed the playlist. Word Press is the last option (E).

You can also choose some options, and it’s recommended that you don’t choose Autostart. Let the visitor decide if he or she wants to hear your music. A lot of people won’t , so don’t annoy them and turn them off to your blog by blasting them with music when they first get to your site.
