How to Use Word Press as a Static Page

by mreed on May 2, 2009

1073817_bulbWord Press is a blogging tool, but it’s also a great content management tool. Not everyone knows that, though, and they are missing out on some great things that they could be doing with Word Press if they were only more aware of them.

One of those things is making a static page. You can do this quite easily, because Word Press lets you make a site that has several different pages on it. With this in mind, make your main page into something that you don’t want to change and then create other pages that you can use to actually put your blog posts on. That way you’ll still be using Word Press and you’ll know that it’s easy to work with, but your Web site will look a lot more standard and not like it’s ‘only’ a blog. You’ll want some of the plug ins that come along with Word Press, too, because you want to ensure that your site is optimized in the best way possible.

Make sure that issues like SEO are taken care of to keep the search engines happy so you’ll be indexed highly. That will help you to get even more traffic to your site than you otherwise would, so you’ll have a better chance of selling the good or service you’re advertising or imparting the information that you’re trying to offer to others.
